Chateau Valandraud 2016: A fine Saint-Emilion

Classified 1st Growth Class B from Saint-Emilion. The vineyard of 7.15 hectares planted on clay-limestone soil. On average, the plants are 30 years old. Chateau Valandraud 2016 has a bouquet with mineral aspects, due to the clay and limestone soil on the property. The wine is tasty, and has fantastic, fleshy tannins. Chateau Valandraud has a candied finish. This wine will reach its peak potential in a few years.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Valandraud packs a wallop on the nose with bombastic scents of baked black plums, cherry compote, coffee beans and licorice plus hints of hoisin, cedar chest and sautéed herbs. Full-bodied, rich and decadent in the mouth, it has a firm frame of grainy tannins and a fantastically long finish.
