The style of a fine red wine from Haut-Medoc, built to age

The estate
Located in the Haut-Medoc appellation, at the gates of Pauillac, Chateau Peyrabon is situated in a verdant setting. Owned by Patrick Bernard since 1998, Chateau Peyrabon has undergone major restructuring and modernization, both in the vineyard and in the winery. Classified a Cru Bourgeois Superieur, Chateau Peyrabon has become an important reference in Haut-Medoc. The estate produces wines representative of the appellation, wines that are elegant and powerful with a superb potential for aging.

The vineyard
In the commune of Saint-Sauveur Medoc, the Chateau Peyrabon vineyard covers approximately 37 hectares of vines, aged 28 years on average and planted in gravelly sandy soil upon a clay subsoil. 5 hectares of vineyard are planted in clay-limestone soils. The vineyard has earned the ISO14001-2015 and HVE (High Environmental Value) certifications, with phytosanitary protection carried out in a sustainable way.

The vintage
For this 2019 vintage, the harvest at Chateau Peyrabon was carried out manually. It began on September 25 for the Merlot and ended on October 11 with the Cabernet.

Extraction via pumping over / punching down / rack and return. Average maceration time of 21 days. Pressing in vertical presses fpr a very progressive and controlled extraction.

The aging

Cabernet sauvignon
(60%), merlot (31,5%), cabernet franc (5%), petit verdot (3,5%).
