Description

A Premier Grand Cru Classé from Saint-Émilion combining vivacity and elegance

The estate

The Château Larcis Ducasse has existed since the 17th century. Preservation, revelation of the terroir and care of the vine are the watchwords of this estate elevated to the rank of Premier Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion in 2012 thanks to the work of Nicolas Thienpont, after taking over the reins of the estate in 2002.

The vineyard

The Château Larcis Ducasse 2023 is a Saint-Émilion wine from a vineyard of 11.15 hectares, of which 9.37 ha are in production. The vines, averaging 35 years old, are planted on a true mosaic of clay-limestone terroirs on asteriated limestones as well as clay-loamy and colluvial clay-limestone soils.

Vinification and ageing

Maceration from 25 to 28 days. Ageing from 16 to 18 months in barrels (50% new and 50% of one wine).

Blend

This Château Larcis Ducasse 2023 is a blend of Merlot (86%) and Cabernet Franc (14%).
