Description
A fresh and delicate Premier Grand Cru Classé from Saint-Émilion
The estate
Château Larcis Ducasse has existed since the 17th century. Preservation, an expression of the terroir and great care for the vine are at the core of Château Larcis Ducasse. The property rose to the rank of Saint-Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classé in 2012 thanks to the work of Nicolas Thien, who took over the running of the estate in 2002.
The vineyard
Château Larcis Ducasse 2021 is a Saint-Emilion wine that stems from an 11.15-hectare vineyard. The vines are 35 years old on average and are planted on a real tapestry of clay-limestone soils composed of asterite limestones, clay-loam and clay-limestone colluvial soils.
Vinification and ageing
Vatting from 25 to 28 days. Aged for 16 to 18 months in barrels (50% new and 50% second-fill barrels).
The blend
Château Larcis Ducasse 2021 comprises a blend of Merlot (86%) and Cabernet Franc (14%).
