Description

A balanced and aromatic Grand Cru Classe from Saint-Emilion

The estate

Located on the edge of Pomerol and on the western part of the Saint-Emilion appellation, Chateau La Dominique is one of the most prestigious properties on the right bank of the Bordeaux region. Audacity, precision and generosity are the key words to describe Chateau La Dominique and its magnificent wines.

The vineyard

Chateau La Dominique has always been involved in sustainable agriculture, reigning over a 25-hectare vineyard planted on an exceptional terroir, with a combination of brown clay soils and sandy soils on a clay sub-layer. The vines are 30 years old on average.

The winemaking and aging

Manual harvests in crates. Vinification in thermoregulated tronconic vats. Aging lasts for 14 months (50% in new barrels, 40% in barrels of one previous wine and 10% in vegetal egg polymers, amphorae and wine globes).

Blend

Chateau La Dominique 2020 is made of a blend of Merlot (85%), Cabernet Franc (12%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (3%).

Tasting

Floral and dark fruit fragrances precede a balanced, fruity and wonderfully fresh palate. Chateau La Dominique 2020 seduces with its tight and delicate tannins, as well as its persistency on the palate.
