Marc Hebrart : Rive Gauche Rive Droite Grand Cru Extra Brut 2006

Champagne - White Marc Hebrart Marc Hebrart 2006 3177/06
  • Parker : 93
Wine Advocate-Parker :
"Half-each Chardonnay and Pinot as well as half-each Ay and Cote des Blancs in origin, Hebrart's 2006 Brut Rive Gauche-Rive Droite was apparently disqualified for Special Club status by its oak influence. But I consider myself (and many a dear reader by now no doubt also considers me) hyper-sensitive to that sort of thing; and there is here a vividly juicy freshness of pear and red currant transparent to shimmering alkaline, chalky, stony, and saline nuances as well as to hints of caraway, mint and raw hazelnut, all of which demonstrate that oak in no way impedes this cuvee from arriving at its desired destination. A browned-butter savor adds to the saliva-inducing appeal of a finish that at once urges lingering and practically compels the next sip. Look for this to merit at least 4-5 further years of attention. (The bottle I tasted had been disgorged this past January.)"
