The Grande Cuvée is the very heart of the Krug identity. Result of a meticulous of 50 to 60 wines from the trhee emblematic grape varieties of the champagne region (Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir), that are from 20-30 different growths from 7 to 10 different vintages. More than 20 yeras are thus needed to produce a bottle of the Krug Grande Cuvée. It is this so peculiar blend that gives the Grande Cuvée its mosaic of flavours and complexity. On the nose; the Krug Grande Cuvée delivers a mesmerizing and intense bouquet with ripe and full aromas of hazelnut, toast, but also more floral and delicate notes. On the palate, they evolve and become more pronounced, well developed and refined, enhanced by a fine effervescence. The finale, fresh and intense, echoes for a long time the perfect harmony of this Grande Cuvée on your taste buds.

The NV Brut Grande Cuvee emerges from the glass with freshly cut flowers, almonds, pastry and spices. This is a relatively floral, bright Grande Cuvee with fewer of the oxidative qualities that are typical of the house style. According to Krug's ID Code, this bottle is based on the 2004 vintage, which explains the wine's tense, taut personality. Another year or two on the cork will only help the wine gain expressiveness and depth. Today, the Grande Cuvee is quite reticent and not showing the full breadth of its personality. This bottle carries ID Code: 211024. Disgorged: Summer 2011.Anticipated maturity: 2013-2020.
