Characteristics and tasting notes for the Blangé 2024 by Ceretto
Tasting
Colour
The colour reveals a bright straw-yellow hue, enhanced by delicate green highlights.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet is vibrant and complex, exuding scents of pear, apple, peach, citrus and tropical fruits. Subtle notes of honeysuckle, beeswax and almond intertwine with elegant mineral and floral touches.
Palate
The palate offers a medium body supported by a lively, refreshing acidity. The fruity expression is perfectly balanced by a lovely minerality, leading to a persistent finish marked by delicious almond notes.
Food and wine pairing
This Italian white wine pairs wonderfully with a wide variety of dishes. It is ideal alongside seafood or vegetable risottos, as well as stuffed pasta. Its freshness enhances composed salads, shellfish, grilled fish, and fresh cheeses such as mozzarella, along with vegetable-based antipasti.
Service and storage
To fully enjoy the Blangé 2024, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 8 and 12°C. This wine can be enjoyed young to appreciate its vibrancy, but it will continue to evolve favourably in the bottle until around 2029.
The authentic expression of an Italian white wine from the Piedmont terroir
The estate
Founded in 1937 by Riccardo Ceretto in Alba, the Ceretto estate is a true institution in Piedmont. Initially focused on purchasing grapes, the estate took a major turn in the 1960s by acquiring its own plots to highlight the concept of cru. Now led by the third generation, represented by Alessandro, Lisa, Federico and Roberta Ceretto, the estate spans approximately 160 hectares of organically certified vines. Renowned worldwide for its excellence and its respectful approach to terroir, it embodies one of the most comprehensive winemaking experiences in Italy.
The vineyard
The grapes for this cuvée come from an 80-hectare vineyard spread across the communes of Vezza d'Alba, Castellinaldo and Alba, in the heart of the rolling landscapes of the Langhe and Roero. The vines, cultivated according to organic farming principles, thrive at altitudes ranging from 210 to 290 metres. They grow on distinctive soils composed of clay, silt and sand, giving the grapes a unique aromatic expression and remarkable finesse.
Winemaking and aging
The estate's philosophy, focused on minimal intervention, guides the making of the Blangé 2024. Vinification begins with cryomaceration at 5°C for part of the harvest, allowing the primary aromas to be extracted with great purity. Fermentation is triggered by indigenous yeasts via a pied de cuve. The wine is then handled at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks under strict thermal control. To preserve the identity of the terroir and the freshness of the fruit, no oak barrel aging is carried out.
Grape variety
100% Arneis.
