French Blonde is an artisanal Sancerre from Domaine La Gemière. Brother Sébastien and Nicolas Millet carry on the legacy of their family’s winery today, practicing sustainable viticulture. Their vineyards lie on the banks of the Loire, benefiting from varied soil types that bring complexity to the wine.
"We grow our wine with respect and passion. Because each year, each plot, each vine is different, we adapt our work to time, from cutting to vintage,” says winemaker Sébastien. The French Blonde Sancerre is made from 25-year-old Sauvignon Blanc vines. The grapes are pressed as soon as they’re harvested, to keep the purity and freshness of the fruit before fermentation. The wine ages in enameled and stainless-steel tanks for 6 months before release.
Bright acidity and minerality sing through each sip of the French Blonde. With refreshing flavors of citrus zest, lemon peel, crushed rocks, and gooseberry, this wine is the ideal pairing for shellfish and young goats milk cheeses.
