The Refinement of a Villa Antinori Chianti Classico
The Antinori family are one of the big names that have been part of Tuscany’s winemaking tradition since the 14th century, and they are one of the gold standards in the region for Chianti wines.
The 2013 Chianti Classico Riserva from the Villa Antinori estate is produced in the Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva appellation. The vineyards are located in the historic heart of the appellation amongst the villages of Radda in Chianti, Ruffoli (Greve in Chianti) and San polo in Rosso (Gaiole in Chianti)) the Tuscan region in Italy.
Since 2010, the Villa Antinori estate has experienced a renaissance due to the construction of sleek, modern cellars that have been perfectly integrated into the surrounding environment. With their Chianti Classico Riserva, the Antinori family wanted to pay special tribute to their label and wine that reflects a long tradition. They launched their first vintage in 1928, a Chianti Classico Riserva Villa Antinori, a unique representation of their estate and a symbolic representation of the Chianti Classico appellation.
The 2013 Chianti Classico Riserva Villa Antinori is a blend of 90% Sangiovese, the flagship black grape of Tuscany, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.
The 2013 Chianti Classico Riserva Villa Antinori is recognized for its excellent quality and has all the typicality of a Chianti Classico from the best vineyards in the historic area of the appellation.
The wine has a ruby color with garnet reflections. On the nose, there are delicate red fruit aromas that evolve into concentrated spice and balsamic notes. The aromas carry through to the palate to give elegant and intense red fruit flavors. The tannins are firm yet smooth and the wine ends with a long finish. An elegant and refined Chianti Classico Riserva that can be enjoyed now or kept until 2025.
