Second wine of the famous Premier Grand Cru Classé de Saint-Émilion in a great vintage

The Chateau Troplong Mondot is one of the great figures in the vineyard of Saint-Emilion in the region of Bordeaux. Premier Grand Cru Classe, its vineyard is located on the hill of Mondot and benefits from a reference clay-limestone terroir culminating at an altitude of 110 meters, the highest point in the area.

The second wine of the estate, the Mondot cuvee is an introduction to the style of the estate's great wine. Resulting from an exceptional vintage, Mondot 2015 is composed of a blend of Merlot to 92% supplemented by 6% of Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% of Cabernet Franc.

An energetic and elegant wine, Mondot 2015 stands out by its intense aromatic expression, particularly on spices. Refined and precise, it develops a silky and pleasant palate with remarkable length.

Blended of 90% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc aged in French oak, 85% new, the deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Troplong Mondot is redolent of warm plums, blackberry tart and blueberry pie with suggestions of underbrush, bay leaves, cedar chest and lavender plus a waft of baking spices. Full-bodied and full-throttle in the mouth, the palate is decadently packed with a solid core of black and blue fruit layers, supported with firm, grainy tannins and finishing with loads of spicy layers. This pedal-to-the-metal beauty is the ultimate indulgence for the hedonists!
