Description
An appellation of 8 hectares, Montrache sits between Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, son the ancient Mont Rachas. Comopsed of brown soils usually reserved for Pinot Noir, the Montrachet saw the birth of Chardonnay and the push that made it one of the greatest white wines in the world. The House of Louis Latour owns a plot with an area of 0.80 hectares that extends from the top to the bottom of the hill and produces the Montrachet Grand Cru. The 2012 vintage reveals a brilliant pale yellow robe with golden glints along with a nose complex and powerful, where one finds a blend of aromas from roasted hazelnut to brioche and black currant bud. On the palate the Montrachet Grand Cru from Louis Latour demonstrates a beautiful equilibrium with a certain minerality on the finish and a great potential for the next five years.
