Joseph Drouhin : Chassagne-Montrachet 1er cru "Morgeot" Marquis de Laguiche 2023

Cask sample. Stone fruit, stone and spices, spaces, emphatic structure pulled tight corner to corner. Green and lime, gold and kumquat, graphite and marble-smooth texture. Marble smooth and yet there is a tug, a pause of pear-skin grainy texture. Feels very, very young, as if it’s been shaken out of a cocoon and hasn’t yet stretched out its folds. The finish feels like the brand-new pages of a matt-papered book, still firm with untouched promise. (TC)
