Description
The aromatic finesse and balance of a Pommard Premier Cru wine
The estate
A major name among the great Burgundy wines, the Comte Armand estate illustrates through each of its wines the aromatic richness and nuances of the great terroirs of Volnay, Auxey-Duresses and Pommard.
The vineyard
"Clos des Epeneaux" Monopole 2019 from Comte Armand is a Pommard Premier Cru wine that stems from a 5.23-hectare vineyard, built up by Nicolas Marey at the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century. Considered one of the major holdings on the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits, Clos des Epeneaux is located in the hearty of the village of Pommard and was acquired by the Comte Armand family in 1828. The vines are aged between 30 and 80 years old, and come partly from a massal selection.
