Description
An exceptional wine from Saint-Emilion
With this new vintage, the Chateau Peby Faugeres 2017 confirms its place as one of the greatest on the Bordeaux wine market.
Becoming a fully-fledged Cru recognized in the 2012 Saint-Emilion ranking, Chateau Peby Faugeres extends over a 7.45-hectare vineyard located on a single slope of clay-limestone. Devoting endless effort through an uncompromising quest for quality, Silvio Denz and his team, advised by Michel Rolland, have managed to reveal the purest expression of this unique terroir through wines of great elegance and class. This new 2017 vintage marks a major change in the management of the estate, since Chateau Peby Faugeres is the midst of converting to organic.
Blessed with a great terroir in Saint-Emilion, Chateau Faugeres was spared during the nights of frost in April 2017, and the extreme care taken in the vineyard has allowed the fruit to reach optimal maturity. A monovarietal cuvee resulting from the very selective assembly of the Peby Grand Vin, the Chateau Peby Faugeres 2017 is a 100% Merlot, harvest only from the parcels of old Merlot vines in the "Butte", a south-facing plot. Already very expressive and displaying a beautifully fruity profile, Chateau Peby Faugeres 2017 reveals the full extent of the estate’s personality. With its dense texture, chewy tannins, and great persistence on the finish, this is a Saint-Emilion Merlot with a bright future ahead of it.
