The Estate
Situated in Saint-Émilion, the Château Moulin Saint-Georges benefits from a privileged location, facing the mythical Château Ausone and in the immediate vicinity of Château La Clotte. Since its purchase in 1921, this discreet estate has been lovingly cultivated by the Vauthier family. Not far from there flows the Fongaban stream, an ageless witness to the passing of time and a symbol of the fleeting nature of human existence, in contrast with the permanence of the terroir. Formerly, a mill belonging to the seigneury of Saint-Georges stood on the very site where the estate’s vat rooms and cellar now stand.
The Vineyard
The vineyard of Château Moulin Saint-Georges covers 7 hectares at the entrance to Saint-Émilion. The vines, with an average age of 25 years, are planted on clay-limestone soils contributing to the characteristic finesse of Saint-Émilion wines.
Vinification and Aging
Hand harvesting and densimetric sorting. Parcel-by-parcel vinification with gentle extractions. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve the pure aromatic expression. Aging for 18 months in new barrels.
Blend
Merlot (80 %) and Cabernet Franc (20 %).
