The nobility of a sunny and mineral Grand Cru of Saint-Emilion

A magnificent Grand Cru Classa, Chateau Laroque shines bright, established on the most beautiful limestone terroir of the Saint-Emilion appellation, on the right bank of Bordeaux.

With 61 hectares of vines planted on a a clay plateau upon a subsoil of limestones and fine blue clay-limestone, Chateau Laroque benefits from an exceptional terroir indeed.

A great vintage in the Bordeaux region, 2018 was a wonderful success for the Grand Vin of the property. Made from a blend of Merlot (97%) and Cabernet Franc (3%), the Chateau Laroque 2018 is simply brilliant. Offering a pure expression of the limestone soils that are the signature of the great Saint-Emilion appellation, this vintage reveals beautiful floral and spicy aromas. A noble palate reveals great finesse and a very fresh saline minerality. A great vintage of Chateau Laroque.

    Wine Advocate-Parker :
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Laroque is a little closed to begin, slowly unfurling to reveal fragrant black cherries, wild blueberries and blackberry preserves scents with hints of crushed rocks, underbrush and violets plus a waft of Marmite toast. Full-bodied and jam-packed with bright, crunchy black and blue fruits, it has a firm line of ripe, fine-grained tannins and loads of freshness, finishing very long and layered. Impressive! Being aged in oak barriques, 50% new, the blend is 97% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc.
