Marks and reviews
Chateau Citran is one of the oldest estates in the Medoc region. In 1996, the Merlaut family took over the running of this estate, which produces elegant wines in the Haut-Medoc appellation.
Chateau Citran 2021 is a fine Haut-Medoc wine made from an 86-hectare vineyard. The vines are 35 years old on average and are planted on a mosaic of gravelly-sandy soils with limestone and clay-limestone soils.
Vinification and aging
Malolactic fermentation is carried out in French oak barrels (33% of which are new) as is the 14-month aging period.
Cabernet Sauvignon (60%)
Cabernet Franc (20%).
A beautiful ruby color with purple highlights.
The nose opens with refreshing fruity notes (red fruit, blackcurrant). The bouquet becomes more complex with aeration, with redcurrant, cherry and blackcurrant fragrances harmoniously blend with vanilla and spicy notes.
A fresh attack gives way to a supple, ample and fruity palate. The finish is persistent and seductive with its toasted notes.
