The estate
Chateau Citran is one of the oldest estates in the Medoc. In 1996, the Merlaut family took over the running of this estate and produce elegant wines from the left bank of Bordeaux.
The vineyard
A standard among fine Haut-Medoc wines, Chateau Citran watches over an almost 90-hectare vineyard. The vines are 35 years old on average and are planted on a tapestry of gravelly-sandy soils with asteriated limestone and clay-limestone soils.
The blend
Merlot
Cabernet Franc
The 2017 Citran is deep garnet-purple colored with a vague stewed plums and cassis nose with tobacco, earth and leather notes plus herbs hints. The palate is medium-bodied, lean, dilute, soft and innocuous.
