Description
The estate
The origins of Chateau Brun hark back to the 16th century. Since then, the family-owned estate has been handed down from generation to generation, thus perpetuating the purest expression of family’s traditional know-how. This age-old tradition is at the very heart of this fine Saint-Emilion Grand Cru.
The vineyard
Chateau Brun 2021 is a Saint-Emilion wine that stems from a 10.95-hectare vineyard which is poised on the slopes of a hill and situated to the northwest of the appellation. The vines are 30 years old on average and are planted on a south facing single block vineyard that rests on a clay-limestone soil. Chateau Brun 2021 comprises Merlot (90%) and Cabernet Franc (10%).
Vinification and aging
The grapes are harvested by hand, sorted, destemmed and vinified in thermo-regulated concrete vats. Vatting time for 18 to 20 days. Racking. The wine is aged for 18 months.
