The Estate
Founded in 1750, Chanson is one of the most renowned houses in Burgundy. The estate is located in a stronghold built in the early 16th century as a watchtower with walls 8 meters thick, nicknamed "La Tour des Filles," which today is dedicated to aging the house's wines. Well known to lovers of great Burgundy wines, Domaine Chanson offers rare cuvées that brilliantly reveal the expression of the greatest winegrowing villages of the Côte de Beaune.
The Vineyard
Domaine Chanson spans 45 hectares of vines planted in the finest appellations of the Côte de Beaune (Santenay, Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Beaune, Savigny-Les-Beaune, Corton, etc.), exclusively classified as Premier Cru and Grand Cru.
The Wine
This Beaune 1er Cru "Clos des Fèves" Monopole from Domaine Chanson is crafted from a 3.80-hectare plot located mid-slope at the heart of the Beaune Premiers Crus. Clos des Fèves was already recorded in 1307 under the Latin name "Fae" (meaning beech tree in Latin).
The Vintage
The 2022 vintage was marked by favorable weather conditions, with a mild, rainy winter followed by a sunny spring and a hot, dry summer. These conditions allowed the grapes to reach optimal ripeness while preserving their freshness and balance.
Winemaking and Aging
Fermentation with whole clusters. The wine is aged for 14 to 18 months within the 15th-century Bastion, using a moderate proportion of new barrels.
Grape Variety
Pinot Noir (100%)
