Henriot : Brut Rose

The freshness and complexity of a rich champagne rosé by Henriot

The producer

Founded in 1808, the Henriot Champagne House has been growing Chardonnay grapes, from the Côte des Blancs, with passion, high and exacting standards for 8 generations. This noble grape variety will later become the defining style of each of the Henriot vintages.

Henriot champagne, greatly appreciated by the Dutch Court, would later become a leading brand among European aristocracy.

Henriot champagnes stand out due to their finesse, their exceptional elegance, their complexity and their radiant richness, thanks to a specific ageing period and a quantity of reserve wines for each cuvée.

The vineyard

Comprising a 35-hectare vineyard, the champagnes by the Henriot Champagne House are partly produced from the most beautiful Premiers and Grands Crus terroirs of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims.

The blend

More than 15 crus are blended to obtain the Brut Rosé cuvée by the Henriot Champagne House.

The two main grape varieties used in the blend are Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs. This brut rosé is obtained by adding Pinot Noir vinified in red to the blend and includes around 25% reserve wines. Pinot Meunier is also part of the blend in a minority proportion and provides subtle fruity notes.

The dosage of Henriot's Brut Rosé is less than 10g/l.

Once bottled, the Brut Rosé is kept for 3 years in the cellars of the Henriot Champagne House.

Brut Rosé by Henriot: Characteristics and tasting tips

The tasting

Colour

The colour is bright, with salmon tints mixed with subtle copper highlights. The beautiful effervescence offers persistent and fine bubbles.

Nose

The nose is greedy and reveals a complex, intense and mineral aromatic bouquet. Aromas of red fruit and citrus fruit blend with great finesse with subtle plant (blackcurrant buds) and floral (clove, iris) scents give way to greedy notes of candied fruit.

Palate

The palate is well-balanced and presents a harmonious aromatic palette. Balsamic and floral notes in the attack give way to spicy aromas bringing a nice freshness. The finish is like the wine itself, fine, persistent and aromatic.

Food and wine pairing

The Cuvée Brut Rosé by the Henriot Champagne House can be enjoyed as an aperitif as well as with exotic dishes, pink meats or red fruit desserts.

Caramelised lobster tails in a wok, a crumble of Landes poultry with courgettes, tomatoes and parmesan, a tian of lamb from the Pyrenees accompanied by polenta with herbs, braised cabbage and beetroot purée or a raspberry millefeuille cake will enhance the personality of this fine Brut Rosé Henriot champagne

Service

For an optimal tasting experience, the recommended serving temperature is 8°C.

Cellaring

Enjoy today, this Brut Rosé champagne can be kept in the cellar for 3-4 years in order to develop its full complexity.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The latest rendition of the NV Brut Rosé exhibits aromas of red berries, dried white flowers and smoky suggestions of lemon rind. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with tangy acids, a youthfully effusive mousse and a precise, delicately chalky and sneakily persistent finish. It's a vibrant, nicely balanced rosé Champagne that will likely reward a year or two of bottle age. A blend incorporating 35% reserve wines, this was disgorged July 2018 with a dosage of less than nine grams per liter.
