Description
A white premier cru from Savigny-lès-Beaune with a limestone terroir, by Domaine Pierre Vincent
The estate
Founded in 2023 in Auxey-Duresses, in Burgundy, Domaine Pierre Vincent was born from the acquisition of Domaine des Terres de Velle by the Solexia group, together with Hervé Kratiroff and Eric Versini. Pierre Vincent, formerly technical director at Domaine de la Vougeraie and then managing director of Domaine Leflaive, now leads this seven-hectare estate, spread across a mosaic of renowned appellations of the Côte de Beaune. His resolutely purist approach favors minimal-intervention winemaking and deep respect for living systems, drawing inspiration from the principles of biodynamics.
The vineyard
The Savigny-Les-Beaune 1er cru "Les Vergelesses" cuvée comes from a 0.5892-hectare plot, planted between 1989 and 1999 and located at the top of the slope, an unusual position for this sector. The limestone soil, combined with an easterly exposure, promotes freshness and tension in the fruit. This setting brings this climat closer to certain terroirs in the neighboring village of Pernand-Vergelesses.
Winemaking and aging
The grapes for the Savigny-Les-Beaune 1er cru "Les Vergelesses" 2024 are pneumatically pressed, slowly and gently, then settled overnight. Alcoholic fermentation begins in stainless steel tank before the wine is transferred to barrel, with around 15% new oak, for malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged for twelve months in barriques, followed by six months in stainless steel tank before bottling, in a measured approach designed to preserve the purity of the fruit and the expression of the terroir.
Grape variety
This Savigny-Les-Beaune 1er cru "Les Vergelesses" 2024 from Pierre Vincent is made from Chardonnay.
