Blackberry notes on the nose, with some herbal perfume touches too that are so appealing. Smooth and softly textured, with chalky nuances and grippy black cherry, strawberry and blackcurrant leaf aspects giving structure and body. Succulent and juicy with mouthwatering freshness. Great vibrancy and drive with life. Super approachable with the same vein of refinement and charm that Figeac does so well.

A firm and refined red with berry and walnut aromas and flavors. Medium body. Creamy texture. Medium finish. Needs time to open. Try after 2025.

58% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc. Second wine of Ch Figeac. Rarely shown en primeur, so first time tasted. Aromatically open and fleshy, the Merlot to the fore. Some floral notes behind. Palate round and appealing (Merlot again) then tightens to give freshness and drive, the Cabernet taking over on the finish. Caressing texture and tannins. The 2019 Petit-Figeac is a fabulous second wine. Bright and effusive, the 2019 is positively stellar. This blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot exudes class. Sweet floral and spice accents lift a core of pliant fruit in this engaging Saint-Émilion. The 2019 is flat-out gorgeous.

Medium-bodied, soft, fresh, forward, and already just great to taste thanks to all the ripe, sweet, red plums, cherries, flowers, earth, and herbs. Silky, refined, and ready to go, you can enjoy this on release or age it for more complexity. Drink from 2022–2032.

The second wine of this great estate, the 2019 Petit-Figeac offers a vivid purple hue with a great nose of black raspberry and mulberry fruits supported by notes of tobacco, flowers, cedar pencil, and Asian spices. This plump, ripe, medium- to full-bodied effort has a round, expansive mouthfeel, sweet tannins, and loads of up-front charm. It’s beautifully done and well worth seeking out. It’s going to evolve for 10–15 years.

Clove and turmeric spices on the nose, this is full of flavour and juice. There is a precision to the spiced blackberry purée and blackcurrant fruits that runs right through the palate. A well-crafted second wine that is full of life, if a little austere in its tannic structure right now. It will soften and fill out with another two or three years in bottle, and it's one to look out for. 30% new oak, 33 hl/ha yield.

On the nose, great purity of heady ripe fruit and the delicate freshness of freshly picked flowers, highlighted by gentle dark chocolate aromas. The chocolatey notes perceived on the nose return on the palate. There is plenty of delicacy and panache in this irresistible second wine, which allows the noble terroir of Figeac to fully express itself.
