Les Baux de Provence Wines : Key Points

Les Baux de Provence is an appellation in the Provence wine region, which covers an area of about 250 hectares and is shared among the Les Baux-de-Provence, Fontvieille, Maussane-les-Alpilles, Mouries, Paradou, Saint -Etienne-du-Gres and Saint-Remy-de-Provence communes. The vines of the Les Baux de Provence appellation benefit from a Mediterranean climate and grow in fairly stony soils. It produces rosé wines (Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah), reds (Grenache, Mourvedre, Syrah) and whites (Clairette, Grenache Blanc, Vermentino). The rosés develop fruit, floral and empyreumatic aromas, and have a beautiful structure. The reds of the Les Baux de Provence appellation reveal vegetal, animal or black fruit scents. They are fleshy and robust with beautiful tannins.
