Who owns Whispering Angel and where is it made?
Caves d'Esclans is a wine merchant/winemaker created by Sacha Lichine. Originally a native of Bordeaux, he is equally the owner of the famous Chateau d'Esclans (Côtes de Provence) in the Var, which he acquired in 2006. Chateau d'Esclans is poised in a natural amphitheater, near the Mediterranean coast. At the end of 2019, the luxury goods group, LVMH, acquired the majority stake in Chateau d'Esclans, leaving Sacha Lichine with a 45% stake in the estate and company.

The excellence of Chateau d'Esclans: A unique expertise
The estate's teams work tirelessly both in the vineyard and in the cellar. By applying traditional and modern techniques, Caves d'Esclans identifies the best vines and the finest grapes from Chateau d'Esclans and other local wine growers - who are selected with the utmost attention. Thus, they are able to uncover the best quality grapes and wines whatever their source (neighboring producers or their own production). Their close and strong relationships with other producers have grown over the years and the teams ensure to maintain a strong, trust-based relationship with these winegrowers.
A meticulous vinification process
The Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Carignan and Vermentino grapes are picked by hand, in the evening to avoid the south-of-France heat and are then whisked off to the cellar, where the vinification process begins. The grapes are then sorted using an optical sorter, destemmed and gently pressed. Fermentation and aging can commence, exclusively in temperature-regulated stainless-steel tanks. All these measures ensure the optimal quality of Whispering Angel.
