Description
A Saint-Émilion red wine with wonderful finesse and aromatic richness
The estate
A prestigious name in the Saint-Émilion appellation, Clos des Jacobins takes its name in reference to the Benedictine monks who welcomed pilgrims on the route to Santiago de Compostela. Since 2004, the Clos des Jacobins has been owned by Thibaut and Magali Decoster.
The vineyard
Since the 17th century, the 8.3-hectare vineyard of this Grand Cru Classé has been in one piece in the heart of the great terroirs of Saint-Émilion. Located at the foot of the hillside and benefiting from an excellent southern exposure, the vines are 30 years old on average and are planted on a very large limestone terroir. The vineyard is managed using sustainable agriculture.
Blend
Merlot (80%), Cabernet Franc (18%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (2%).
