Description

The Power and Structure of a First Wine from Haut-Medoc

With its unusual name and style, Chateau Sociando-Mallet is one of the most beautiful wines of the Haut-Medoc appellation.

The strength of this beautiful property on the Left Bank of Bordeaux, near Pauillac, lies in its exceptional terroir. The vineyard overlooking the Gironde estuary is located on the hilltop of Baleyron, made up of gravel from Güntzian ice age, upon a deep clay-limestone subsoil.

The soul of Chateau Sociando-Mallet wines comes from this mosaic of terroirs and is enhanced by the daily attention given to both the vines and the specific vinifications, conducted under the watchful eye of consulting oenologist Michel-Bernard Couasnon.

The Chateau Sociando-Mallet 2017 is the emblematic wine of the house, revealing the authenticity and strength of its terroir of origin in a blend dominated by Merlot (55%), complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) and Cabernet Franc (5%).

Neither classified nor bourgeois, this wine will nevertheless seduce lovers of Haut-Medoc in search of authenticity.
