A smooth red wine from the Haut-Medoc
With an area of 83 hectares, Chateau Sociando Mallet is a Haut-Medoc wine. The blend is 53% Merlot and 47% Cabernet Sauvignon.
At the tasting, there is a deep ruby and purple color. On the nose, we can observe scents of blackcurrant and blueberry. The wine has touches of wet stones and smooth tannins on the palate. The Chateau Sociando Mallet 2013 is moderately structured with some concentration. However, it is well made and has no astringency or vegetal character.
This wine, which is often destined to have a good aging potential, stands out for its softness and richness. This wine is therefore best to drink in its youth and to be consumed up until 2022.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
Soft for a wine that is often quite extracted, rich and very ageworthy, the 2013 is a much more friendly prospect for drinking at an early age - over the next 7-8 years. Deep ruby/purple with cassis and blueberry fruit, a hint of wet rocks, soft tannins and moderate body, this is not by any means a very concentrated wine, but it is well-made and pure without any astringent tannin or vegetal characteristics.
