Chateau Rauzan-Gassies is a 2nd Classified Growth from the Margaux appellation. The summer of 2009 was very hot and did not receive a lot of rain. In spite of the limited rains, the vine slowly continued growing. The growth cycle of the grapes was well-timed and allowed for a perfect harvest in great conditions. The grapes were perfectly ripe. The 2009 vintage is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (75%), Merlot (23%), and Petit Verdot (2%).
Chateau Rauzan-Gassies is an elegant wine, especially the 2009 vintage. In general, the wines of the property have an aromatic palate, emitting floral fragrances.
