The roundness and freshness of a silky Saint-Émilion
The estate
Le Château Les Grandes Murailles, a Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion, is located near Clos Fourtet, also owned by the Cuvelier family. Drawing on the experience of this great terroir on the right bank of Bordeaux, the Cuvelier family is driven by the desire to produce timeless wines built on finesse, offering great aging potential.
The vineyard
The vineyard of Château Les Grandes Murailles covers a 1.46-hectare plot in the heart of Saint-Émilion. It is planted on the clay-limestone soils typical of the appellation. The vines are managed in respect of natural balances using sustainable farming.
The vintage
At Château Les Grandes Murailles, 2018 will be remembered as a year marked by strong climatic contrasts heralding the birth of a great vintage. After a rainy winter and early spring, the very fine summer with radiant sun through to the harvest allowed the berries to reach perfect ripeness. The harvest thus took place on September 26, 20108, highlighting the exceptional quality of the Merlot grapes.
Grape variety
100% Merlot.
