Chateau Lafaurie-Peyraguey 2005

 A case of 12 Bottles (750ML)

2005 1er Cru Classe from Sauternes

The Chateau Lafaurie Peyraguey vineyard stretches over 41 hectares, located in the heart of the Sauternes appellation. This 2005 is a blend of SemilloSauvignon, followed by Muscadelle that brings the wine a certain complexity.
This vintage offers a concentrated bouquet with apricot and fig jam notes as well as almond and grilled walnut hints. The palate is medium-bodied with a rather vibrant, well-structured acidity. The 2005 Chateau Lafaurie Peyraguey reveals an excellent tension, a good dynamic but also an impressive mineral character.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2005 Chateau Lafaurie-Peyraguey offer apricot, fig jam and touch of almond on the focused bouquet, grilled walnut coming through later. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, quite structured and almost austere in comparison with other vintages. There is good tension here, vibrant and citric with impressive mineralité towards the finish. This has great potential.
