Description

A fine red wine from Margaux

The estate
With its origins dating back to the 13th century, Chateau La Tour de Mons is one of the oldest wine estates in Margaux. Classified a Cru Bourgeois Superieur, Chateau La Tour de Mons underwent major renovations in the 1990s. Managed by CA Grands Crus since 2012, under the direction of Technical Director Anne Le Naour, Chateau La Tour de Mons produces wines that reflect the authenticity of the Margaux appellation on the left bank of Bordeaux.

The vineyard
All in one piece, the 48 hectares of Chateau La Tour de Mons vineyards extend over Garonne gravel and clay-limestone soils in the heart of the AOC Margaux.

The vintage
The weather conditions of 2019 were quite mixed, and have produced an excellent vintage. A calm start to the season and very nice summer conditions were followed by light rain in September, perfecting the ripeness of the fruit.

The aging
30% new French oak barrels.

The blend
Merlot
(47%), cabernet sauvignon (46%), cabernet franc (5%), petit verdot (2%).
