Description

A powerful and tasty red wine from Margaux

A prestigious property in the Margaux appellation, in the wine region of Bordeaux, Chateau la Tour de Mons has been part of the Medoc landscape since the 13th century. Since 2012 it has been belonged to the prestigious portfolio of the Grands Crus Chateaux and benefits from the advice of the famous oenologist Eric Boissenot.

With a very wet start to the season in Bordeaux, the 2018 vintage was marked by superb weather in the summer, with warm temperatures and ideal water reserves. The enthusiasm was palpable at chateau la Tour de Mons, even before the harvest season. The harvest took place in the best conditions possible, with sunny and dry days and cool nights, which allowed the fruit to maintain a good acidity and very elegant aromatic profiles. In this Margaux property, a “prodigious" vintage was achieved.

This 2018 red wine from Bordeaux is composed of a blend of 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Following the harvest, the grapes were sorted and placed in stainless steel vats adapted to a plot-by-plot vinification. The fermentation was carried out slowly at low temperatures to maintain the best aromatic profile of the fruit. The wine was then aged in barrels for 12 months, with 40% of the oak being new.

The result is a Chateau la Tour de Mons 2018 from the Margaux appellation, displaying in the glass a ruby color and beautiful aromas of black and red fruits. With a full body, the Chateau la Tour de Mons 2018 is a powerful and pleasant red wine with an excellent aromatic persistence.
