The richesse of an intense and concentrated Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classe

A must-try reference in Saint-Emilion, the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classe Chateau La Couspaude 2018 is in line with the greatest vintages of the estate.

Born from a beautiful terroir of clay-limestone soils on the Right Bank of Bordeaux, the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classe Chateau La Couspaude 2018 is made from a blend of Merlot (75%), Cabernet Franc (20%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%).

In the brightness of its youth, the Chateau La Couspaude 2018 presents an intense purple color. On the first few sniffs, the nose reveals a great aromatic richness and beautifully concentrated fruit. Notes of black berries, elderberry, blackberry, black cherry and plum make way for slightly smoked and roasted notes. On the palate, the wine captivates with its richness and generosity, displaying a beautiful tannic structure, notes of black fruits and sweet spices. The finish is very long, leaving behind delicious fruit and spicy flavors.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 La Couspaude is slightly reduced to begin, giving way to compelling notions of Christmas cake, warm black plums and boysenberries with touches of chocolate box, licorice and truffles. Full, concentrated and laden with black fruit preserves and spicy layers, it has a solid, velvety frame and just enough freshness, finishing long and earthy.
