2012 Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé from Bordeaux.
201st vintage wine of the Despagne family on the Grand Corbin terroir, the 2012 Chateau Grand Corbin-Despagne is a blend of 75% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard is located on the north of the Saint-Emilion appellation, neighbouring Pomerol.
This civilised Grand Cru Classé reveals soft tannins and a relatively intense concentration. This Saint-Emilion offers incense, cornflower and black raspberry notes. The 2012 Chateau Grand Corbin Despagne is elegant and fruity with a restrained hint of nutmeg and cumin. The wine presents a great aromatic richness and a quite intense volume.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
Typical of this wine from François Despagne, it is dense ruby/purple, very masculine, powerful, virile, with loads of tannin, huge extract and a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel. The wine is rich, pure and will repay cellaring of 8-15 or more years. This is a sleeper of the vintage.
