Description
The harmony of an atypical and generous fine white wine from Pessac-Leognan
The estate
Since 2001, Chateau de Fieuzal has belonged to an Irish couple passionate about French wine, who strive to perpetuate the unique character of the estate, while preserving the signature style and authenticity of Fieuzal wines. The vineyard is planted in a terroir typical of the Pessac-Leognan appellation, the ideal environment for the cultivation of the main Bordeaux grape varieties.
The vineyard
This Graves Classified Growth reigns over an exceptional vineyard with vines aged 30 years on average, established on a terroir of fine soils covered with gravel.
The vintage
In the year 2019, the winter was mild, resulting in an early bud burst. An English-style spring was followed by a hot summer and an "Indian summer" before autumn. All these conditions have made it possible to perfect the quality of the Chateau de Fieuzal white wine.
The blend
Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc.
Tasting
The Chateau de Fieuzal Blanc 2019 reveals a complex bouquet, which combines the freshness of lemon zest and the generosity of apricot and mango in great harmony. Generous and ample, the palate has nice and dense texture, balanced by a freshness from the wine’s terroir of origin, allowing it to also maintain a nice acidity. The result is an atypical and delicious 2019 vintage of the Chateau de Fieuzal white.
