Chateau de Fieuzal 2022

Sliced green apples, pears, green mangoes, cedar and nutmeg on the nose of this crisp and focused white. It’s layered, complex and spicy, with medium body and wonderful phenolic tension. Drink or hold.

55% Sauvignon Blanc, 45% Sémillon. Pale greenish straw. Stinky, feline aroma but very fresh fruit. Not sure this is needed in the great wide world of wine even if it would be fine with a first course in Bordeaux. (JR)

Flowers, white peaches, lemon rind, and orange notes leap from the nose. The palate is creamy yet fresh, perfect for its white peach, lemon curd, and tropical profile. This will be great in your glass on release. The wine blends 55% Sauvignon and 45% Semillon. Drink from 2025-2032.

Pale straw yellow colour, silver reflections. Notes of ripe pineapple, a hint of lime and meadow herbs, with floral nuances in the background. Juicy, soft, somewhat fluid texture, fine fruit sweetness, fine lemony hints on the finish, already developed and versatile. (1/2025, PM).

The 2022 Château De Fieuzal Blanc is a stunning, racy white, offering layers of bright citrus, lychee, white flowers, and crushed stone, with a touch of minty herbs. Medium-bodied, vibrant, and focused, it has bright acidity and a crystalline sense of purity. This showed beautifully both times I was able to taste it. Give bottles a year or two and drink through 2034.

65 % Sauvignon Blanc, 35 % Sémillon, 26 hl/ha. Delicate bouquet of vineyard peach, lemon balm and white flowers. On the dynamic palate, with lively, sparkling freshness, it’s all about finesse coupled with a refined mineral core. In the focused finish it impresses with purity, citrus and an elegant chalky note.

A gentle, subtle nose carried by aromas of chestnut honey and exotic fruits (mango and papaya), with a deeper note of lemongrass. The palate is simply exquisite! A sensation of freshness as if diving into a pool of strawberries, with a bracing salinity.

Shades of citrus, lime, biscuit and peppermint. In short, freshness above all. Broad and saline on the attack, the wine plays on distinct registers, all devoted to harmony, sapidity and freshness. An explicit, self-assured wine. Convincing

The nose is elegant, rich and suave, with a lovely grain. It reveals notes of fleshy apple, fleshy/pulpy vineyard peach, and, more lightly, peach blossom, with fine touches of verbena and a discreet, almost buttery, almost acacia hint. The palate is nicely guided, supple, juicy and gourmand, with a tart framework, precision, and a lovely finesse within its roundness, showing both tension and suppleness. It expresses notes of juicy/pulpy vineyard peach, vibrant nectarine, and, more lightly, pulpy apple, combined with touches that are almost pine-needle-like, a subtle, almost oceanic edge, buttery. Good length.

Pale color with green highlights. Very aromatic nose, delicate, fruity, subtle, and slightly minty. Caressing on the attack, the wine unfolds with great aromatics on an airy body. It becomes juicy and noble in both its aromas and texture, leading to a beautiful, long finish. Blend: 55% sauvignon, 45% sémillon. Alcohol: 12.7% – pH: 3.3.

A very refined, fresh nose with hints of lichen and river algae. Elegance and delicacy define the bouquet, with notes of fruit and white flowers (acacia). The palate opens rich and complete. Citrus notes carry a coherent mouthfeel, perfectly balanced between acidity, minerality, and breadth. A highly successful vintage, a delightful, pleasure-giving wine!
