Description
A rich and balanced Grand Cru Classé from Saint-Émilion
The estate
A precious testament to a rich winemaking heritage, the Château Corbin has been telling the story of vines and men since its foundation. Although the château was built in the 18th century, legend has it that the estate's lands belonged to the famous Black Prince who fought the French at the dawn of the Hundred Years' War. Today, the estate has been in the same family for nearly a hundred years. The ancestral passion is passed down from generation to generation. Thus, Anabelle Cruse, supported by her husband Sébastien Bardinet, infuses the estate with her work and determination, restoring its nobility.
The vineyard
The Château Corbin 2023 is a Saint-Émilion wine from a 13-hectare vineyard. The vines, averaging 33 years old, are planted on clayey and sandy-clay soils with a subsoil of iron clay.
Vinification and ageing
Manual harvesting in small crates is followed by densimetric sorting. Parcel vinification in small capacity, thermoregulated raw cement vats, accompanied by pump-overs. Maceration from 30 to 38 days. The ageing takes place in new cement or glass barrels.
Blend
This Château Corbin 2023 is the result of a blend of Merlot (90%) and Cabernet Franc (10%).
