Description
The nobility and elegance of a silky Margaux grand wine
The property
Owned by the Guillement family since 1932, the Château Boyd-Cantenac is one of the most consistent crus of the Margaux appellation. This 3rd Grand Cru Classé in 1855 seduces lovers of great Margaux wines with its unique style, reflecting a mastered know-how. With a great aging potential, the wines present this aromatic complexity typical of Margaux while the palate is suave and refined.
The vineyard
The Château Boyd-Cantenac is a Margaux wine from a vineyard located in the heart of the appellation and whose vines rest on siliceous gravels.
The vintage
2019 was memorable for its significant climatic contrasts. After a cool start to the season, the summer of 2019 was marked by scorching temperatures. From the end of August to the end of September, the berries were able to perfect their maturity thanks to excellent climatic conditions. The harvest began on September 25 and ended on October 18.
Blend
Cabernet sauvignon (68%), merlot (21%), petit verdot (8%), cabernet franc (3%).
