The estate
A benchmark in Champagne, Francis Egly continues the pursuit of excellence of this family-owned estate founded after the Second World War.
Covering just over 15 hectares, the vineyard of Egly-Ouriet, located on Grands Crus (Ambonnay, Bouzy, and Verzenay) and a Premier Cru (Vrigny), is made up of vines averaging 40 to 60 years old.
Mainly composed of chardonnay, pinot noir, and pinot meunier, the champagnes of Egly-Ouriet, produced from a rigorous massal selection and meticulous care given both to the vineyard and winemaking, perfectly express the great terroirs of Champagne with rare elegance and precision.
Vinification and aging
The Brut Grand Cru from Egly-Ouriet is vinified exclusively in barrels. Continuing the tradition, an initial aging on lees ensures slow and gradual clarification of the wines. This champagne Brut was bottled in 2016 and has a dosage of 3g/liter.
Blend
This Brut Grand Cru from Egly-Ouriet is the result of a blend of wines from the 2015 (50%), 2014 (20%), 2013 (20%), and 2012 (10%) vintages. This blend is composed of pinot noir (70%) and chardonnay (30%).
