Description
The freshness and generosity of a Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence rosé wine
The estate
Founded in 1880, the Grande Séouve estate, dedicated to the production of truffles and then converted into a vineyard in the 1900s, was taken over in 2010 by Eric Kurver, a former Dutch manager of an Amsterdam-based advertising agency. This wine enthusiast renamed the estate Maison Saint Aix and modernised it from the vineyard to the cellar. With temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, pneumatic presses and harvesting machines, he invested in state-of-the-art equipment to capture the essence of Provence's emblematic terroir in a single premium rosé.
Today, Maison Saint Aix exports its exceptional rosé to the greatest establishments in Paris, Aix and Lyon and to some thirty countries including the United States, England and China.
The vineyard
Saint Aix 2022 is a Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence wine made from vines grown on the mineral-rich soils of the Bèdes plateau near the commune of Jouques, on the edge of the green oak-planted hills. Culminating at an altitude of 420 metres, the vineyard of this 75-hectare estate faces due south. The vineyard is managed organically and is in perfect harmony with the environment. The Mistral wind and 300 days of sunshine a year provide ideal conditions for producing a high quality rosé.
