Description
Characteristics and Tasting Notes for Louis Jadot's Pouilly-Fuissé Village 2024
Tasting
Appearance
The wine reveals a brilliant golden hue, enhanced by delicate emerald reflections.
Nose
Particularly harmonious and wonderfully fresh, the aromatic bouquet releases citrus notes such as lemon and grapefruit, mingled with aromas of white-fleshed fruits. The whole is enriched by subtle hints of hazelnut and toasted almond.
Palate
Both ample and taut, the palate charms with its harmony and freshness. It offers a slightly unctuous texture that extends into a lingering, clean finish, carried by a beautiful minerality.
Food and wine pairings
This dry white wine pairs wonderfully with white-fleshed fish, shellfish and other seafood. It also brilliantly accompanies poultry and white meats in creamy sauces, vegetarian dishes such as a vegetable risotto, as well as cooked pressed cheeses like Comté or Beaufort.
Serving and cellaring
For an optimal tasting experience of this Pouilly-Fuissé Village 2024, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 10 and 12°C. Decanting may be considered in its youth to release the full extent of its aromatic complexity.
The Elegance and Freshness of a White Burgundy Wine
The estate
Officially founded in 1859 in Beaune, Maison Louis Jadot is a true institution in Burgundy. While its winegrowing roots date back to 1826, it is thanks to its unique model combining estate and négociant activities that it has established itself. Today under the control of the Kopf family and chaired by Thomas Seiter, the estate perpetuates a philosophy centred on respect for the terroir and mastery of yields. Recognised worldwide, the house is also committed to sustainable viticulture, offering a rich and clearly defined range that illustrates the full diversity of Burgundy's climats.
The vineyard
Located in the south of the region, at the heart of the Mâconnais, the terroir of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation stands out for its well-exposed slopes and its climate, slightly warmer than that of the northern part of the region. The vines thrive on predominantly limestone and marl soils, giving the grapes early maturity while preserving a beautiful mineral tension. Vineyard management is the subject of rigorous attention, with controlled yields and careful management of the vegetative cover to ensure the balance of the berries.
Winemaking and aging
The making of this Pouilly-Fuissé Village 2024 is carried out with meticulous care in order to preserve the freshness of the fruit. Vinification involves partial fermentation in oak barrels. The wine then benefits from around six months of aging in French oak casks. The use of wood is deliberately subtle and measured, adding complexity and structure without ever masking the authentic expression of the terroir.
Grape variety
100% Chardonnay.
