Description
An Ample and Elegant Wine from Saint-Julien
The Estate
Founded in the 18th century and acquired in 1917 by the Cordier family, the Château Talbot is a prestigious vineyard located in Saint-Julien-Beychevelle, on the left bank of Bordeaux. Today, it is managed by Nancy Bignon-Cordier, with Jean-Pierre Marty and Jean-Michel Laporte, and the estate is recognized for its subtle, intense, and balanced wines.
The Vineyard
The Château Talbot vineyard oversees a 93.5-hectare vineyard within the Saint-Julien appellation. The vines are on average 42 years old.
Vinification and Aging
The harvest is entirely hand-picked, followed by successive sorting (manual and optical) to select only the highest quality berries. The vinification takes place in wooden vats. The aging continues for 15 months in barrels, 60% of which are new, allowing the wine to develop its complexity while preserving the fruit and freshness.
Blend
The blend of this Château Talbot 2024 consists of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot.
