A great Margaux wine combining finesse and precision

The property
Founded in 1661 by Pierre Desmezures de Rauzan, Château Rauzan-Ségla is an emblematic estate of Bordeaux, located in Margaux. Spanning 66 hectares, the vineyard rests on fine gravel and clay-limestone soils. Since 1994, the property belongs to the Wertheimer family (Chanel), with Alain Wertheimer at its head. Second Cru Classé in 1855, Château Rauzan-Ségla is one of the most prestigious references of the Margaux appellation.

The vineyard
The vineyard of Château Rauzan-Ségla benefits from an exceptional terroir in Margaux, characterized by fine gravel and clay-limestone soils that give the wines their characteristic elegance.

The vintage
The year 2024 began with a mild and rainy winter, followed by a spring marked by a cooling from mid-April and regular rains. Summer set in late, from the end of July. Autumn proved to be wet and cool, influencing the vegetative cycle of the vine.

Vinification and aging
Parcel and intra-parcel vinification, carried out in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats with gravity filling. The aging takes place over 18 months with 50% new wood, allowing the wine to develop its complexity while preserving the fruit and freshness characteristic of the Margaux terroir.

Blend
63.5% cabernet sauvignon, 34% merlot, 2% petit verdot, and 0.5% cabernet franc
