Description
The estate
A former smallholding of Chateau d’Arsac, Chateau Monbrison has, since 1921, been a family estate located within the appellation of Margaux, on the left bank of Bordeaux.
The vineyard
The Chateau Monbrison vineyard covers an area of 15.5 hectares. The vines are planted on gravelly soils, ensuring optimal drainage as well as good fertility. Certified as High Environmental Value (HVE3), Chateau Monbrison has commenced a plot-by-plot experiment in biodynamics.
The vintage
2020 began with a very rainy winter, which lasted until May. The team at the estate acted quickly to protect the vineyard and ensure homogeneous flowering. Summer conditions were hot and dry. Harvests took place from 14 to 30 September.
Blend
The 2020 Chateau Monbrison is made of a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (74%), Merlot (17%) and Cabernet Franc (9%).
Tasting
Fruity and delightfully dense, the 2020 Chateau Monbrison seduces with its complexity, power, aromatic richness and great aging potential.
