The 2020 Liot has a pale lemon-straw color. It skips out of the glass with carefree notions of fresh yellow apples, honey-drizzled white peaches, and lime cordial, giving way to hints of chamomile and jasmine tea. The palate is soft spoken and refreshing, with delicate floral and stone fruit flavors and a spicy kick to the finish.

Le Figaro Vin

Beeswax sets the first aromas before more fruity notes (apricot, peach) and exotic ones (fresh pineapple) reveal themselves. The palate turns creamy and enveloping, echoing the fruit notes from the nose, with marked sweetness tempered by a fairly fresh backbone.

The property

The Château Liot is located in the Sauternes appellation, more specifically on the Haut-Barsac plateau. Château Liot has belonged to the David family for several generations.

The vineyard

The vineyard of Château Liot extends over 40 hectares, with 20 hectares planted in the Sauternes appellation and 20 hectares in red and white Graves. This terroir consists of clay and red soil on a limestone base. Château Liot has been HVE certified since 2020.

Vinification and aging

Manual harvest by successive sorting. The aging in barrels lasts from 9 to 12 months.

Blend

This Château Liot 2020 is a blend of sémillon, sauvignon blanc, and muscadelle.
