Chateau Liot 2023

The 2023 Liot has a light nose with dried honey and beeswax aromas. As usual, it lacks real botrytis concentration. The palate is better with decent weight and unctuosity, more than normal. Clean fruit and though not complex, it is a better Liot than expected.

Intense and concentrated, lacks a little acidity to really lift things off but there is delicious sage and aniseed on the nose, and white peach and nectarine, honeysuckle on the finish. Husband and wife Jonathan and Marie-Amelie David took over the family estate in 2021. One point upscore.

Light, fresh, sweet wine that is best consumed chilled as an aperitif. Drink from 2026-2037.

A superb bouquet with notes of ripe mango, mirabelle plums, toasted almonds and verbena. Smooth on the attack, the wine is creamy and silky, lifted by delicate bitter notes that underpin its flavor expression, while the acidity brings a touch of freshness. A charming, delicious and well-balanced wine!

Notes of pineapple, mango and passion fruit emerge from the 2023 Liot. Medium- to full-bodied, juicy and enveloping, it is animated by lively acidity and built around a fleshy core of fruit that carries through to a perfumed, elegant finish.
