The 13th century Chateau La Tour de Mons became the property of Seigneurs de Blanquefort (Lords of Blanquefort) from 1245 to 1453. The 2012 Margaux Cru Bourgeois is 49% de Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 3% de Petit Verdot.
The vintage reveals deep, dark colour and delicate nose with fruit compote, spices, and roasted notes. The palate offers perfect balance between power and elegance, with fleshy yet luscious tannins.
A juicy, sexy style of Margaux, with a dark ruby/plum/purple color, some nice blackcurrant and black cherry fruit, sweet tannin and a lush, heady mouthfeel, this is another sleeper of the vintage and an excellent, possibly outstanding Margaux to drink over the next decade.
