The 2012 Chateau Figeac displays a dense, strong hue. The vintage fresh and luscious character shows remarkably precise yet neat red fruits and currant aromas. To the palate, the attack is forward and precise; the mid-palate is full with underlying fine tannins. A hint of minerals is reminiscent of the nature of Saint-Emilion’s soils, as well as the exceptional quality of Cabernet Sauvignon. The finish is fresh, tense, long, and very flavourful. It should be noted that the proportion of the Merlot, 2012 leading grape variety, is higher than usual, and constitutes 40% of the blend.
