Bordeaux - Saint-Emilion - Red Chateau Figeac Chateau Figeac 2012 1115/12
  • Parker : 93
  • J. Robinson : 15,5

2012 Saint -Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classe B

The 2012 Chateau Figeac displays a dense, strong hue. The vintage fresh and luscious character shows remarkably precise yet neat red fruits and currant aromas. To the palate, the attack is forward and precise; the mid-palate is full with underlying fine tannins. A hint of minerals is reminiscent of the nature of Saint-Emilion’s soils, as well as the exceptional quality of Cabernets Sauvignons. The finish is fresh, tense, long, and very flavourful.  It should be noted that the proportion of the Merlot, 2012 leading grape variety, is higher than usual, and constitutes 40% of the blend. The right bank is… and Saint-Emilion Premier Grand Cru is one the region’s great successes.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux tasting. The 2012 Figeac put in a marvelous showing under strict blind conditions and it has clearly blossomed in bottle. It has an immediately engaging bouquet with vivid blackberry and raspberry fruit, wonderful mineralité and fine delineation. This is very composed, with a touch of graphite that almost takes you towards Pauillac rather than Saint Emilion. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, well-judged acidity, harmonious and lively with commendable precision towards the finish. This is a sophisticated and well-crafted Figeac that appears to be on an upward trajectory. Tasted January 2016.;2022 - 2045
